De Haviland CC/CT-142 Dash 8

The De Haviland CC/CT-142 Dash 8 is a twin engine turbo-prop. It was originally designed as a medium range transport aircraft. The Dash 8 was purchased to replace the Dash 7s in 1987. Four of the CC/CT-142s that were received in 1990 were sent to the air navigation school in Winnipeg. In the picture at the bottom of the page you can see a Dash 8 with an elongated nose. This nose houses a Litton Maritime search radar which is also used for mapping and weather data collection. This particular modification earned the callsign "GONZO" for obvious reasons.
